The Arts

Art Trail

We are delighted to be participating in the Art Trail again this year, which is organised by Art South WA. There is an exhibition of Years Two, Three, Six and Eight artworks inspired by the critically endangered western ringtail possum in the foyer of the Albany Entertainment Centre. This will be on display during the upcoming school holidays.

Possum Place

We are excited to announce that tickets will go on sale to the GSG School community for Possum Place in Week One of Term Four.

Tickets are for the Kaleynup Theatre on Friday 14 November at 5.00pm or Saturday 15 November at 11.00am. Audience members will need to bring a cushion and a torch. Tickets are $12 each and will be available to purchase through the Albany Entertainment Centre in Week One.

Cinefest Oz

We Bury The Dead had its launch at the Albany Entertainment Centre on Tuesday night to a sell-out audience. It was a very scary zombie film! Many thanks to Scott Mills who worked with Media Club students to provide some inside filming information on Wednesday afternoon!

Reminder: Student Withdrawals for 2026

Families are kindly reminded that if your child will not be returning to Great Southern Grammar in 2026, formal written notification must be submitted to the Principal by this Friday 26 September.

Timely notice helps us plan effectively for the year ahead and ensures a smooth transition for all students.

Please see below for the official information regarding student withdrawals as outlined in the School’s Fee Schedule.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Fee Schedule

Student Withdrawal

The School is proactive in retaining students. Parents are encouraged to discuss these matters with the Principal or other relevant staff member at the earliest convenience.

Day Students: One full term’s notice must be provided in writing to the Principal before withdrawal, including students leaving at the end of the year. In default of that notice, one half of a term’s tuition fee is payable (Years Pre-Primary to Twelve).

Boarding Students: A Boarding offer of enrolment is made for the full school year. Withdrawal of a student from Boarding requires two full terms notice in writing. In default of that notice, a term’s boarding fee may be payable.

NAIDOC Week at GSG: Celebrating Young Leaders and Creative Voices

Week One of Term Three saw Great Southern Grammar come together in a vibrant celebration of NAIDOC Week, a time to honour culture, creativity, and the rising generation of strong, young leaders.

One of the highlights of the week was our Whole School poster competition. The energy and imagination flowing through our Primary School classrooms were truly inspiring, with students sharing stories and illustrations that reflected their understanding and pride in culture.

In the Secondary School, entries were thoughtful and reflective, exploring how we can all contribute to building stronger, more connected communities.

We were thrilled by the overwhelming response, nearly one hundred entries across the school! The winning posters will be featured in our official NAIDOC Week materials for 2026, showcasing the incredible talent within our student body.

With the help of our dedicated judging panel, we are proud to announce the winners of this year’s NAIDOC Week Poster Competition:

  • Saffron Tapscott, Year Seven
  • Sadie Cameron, Year Five
  • Grace Henry, Year Five

We also extend an honorary mention to Mila Pizzata, Year Five, whose vibrant depiction of the GSG Athletics Carnival is currently on display in the Sport Office.

A huge thank you to every student who participated. Your creativity and effort are to be celebrated! Special thanks to our judging panel: Mr Mathew Irving, Mrs Emma Franklin, Mr Jordan Owenell, Mrs Hayley Ranger and Ms Leah Field, for their thoughtful guidance and support in making NAIDOC Week at GSG a meaningful and memorable experience.

Congratulations to all!

Regional Roadshow Sundowners
