Ms D Principal Message

Prep Transition Session
Today, we welcomed 78 of the newest members of our school community — and their parents — for their first transition session. The students settled beautifully into four Prep classes and participated in some “get to know you” games and a literacy lesson using The Rainbow Fish as inspiration. The story helped highlight the key messages we hope all our students continue to develop:
- Empathy – understanding how others feel and recognising that kindness builds relationships.
 - Sharing and cooperation – essential skills for forming positive peer relationships in the early years of learning.
 - Self-awareness – learning that happiness often comes from how we treat others, not from what we have.
Inclusion – valuing everyone’s uniqueness and finding joy in being part of a caring community.
The students were supported by our Grade 6 School Captains, Archie Reynolds and Skylar Wolfe, along with our Buddy Captains, Sumayyah Ahmad Zaky, Aaradhya Chaudhry, Asher Liddelow, Michael Missios, Emily Mulhall, and Elly Dowman. All demonstrated our school values — particularly kindness and respect — in their interactions with our new students.
Grandparents and Special Persons Morning
Last Friday, we hosted our annual Grandparents and Special Persons Day. It was wonderful to see so many visitors at our school, supporting their grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. We hope everyone enjoyed seeing our students in action and experiencing the vibrant learning taking place in classrooms across the school. Thank you for taking the time to be part of this special day.
TPS Trivia Night
Also last Friday evening, we held our annual TPS Trivia Night, with around 150 parents and staff in attendance. The evening was full of energy, laughter, and friendly competition as our entertaining Quiz Master led the night. The raffle draws were a highlight, with everyone eager to win one of the highly sought-after prizes.
While the teachers didn’t take home the winning cake trophy this year, we were pleased not to take home the wooden spoons either!
A huge thank you goes to the incredible organising team for dedicating their time and effort to make the event such a success: Ana Adams, Kate Savigny, Liz Fox, Stephanie and Gill Marsden, Paul Dempsey, Catalina Rea, Chris Rogers, Edie Polak, Carmen Brandstatter, Caroline Spry, Wei-Lien Yee, Placida Elusfa, Nicole De Spa, Michelle Stephen, Bonnie Wright, and Angela Mulhall.
Events like these don’t just happen — they’re made possible by the dedication and hard work of our parent volunteers. We are so grateful for everything you do behind the scenes and on the night to ensure everyone has a great time.
Finally, a sincere thank you to all our event sponsors who donated the amazing prizes — your generosity and support are deeply appreciated.
We are currently finalising the profit statement for the event and look forward to sharing the outcome with our community in the next newsletter. Our 2025 fundraising efforts will go towards the next phase of our garden development, as outlined in previous newsletters, and we are now very close to turning the design on paper into a reality for our school. If you have contributed in any way throughout the year — thank you! Your support truly makes a difference.
We still have a few more fundraising and community events to look forward to in our 2025 calendar:
- School Disco
 - Songs of Celebrations
 - Christmas Hampers and Raffle

Building Update
Updates and repairs to our roof on the main building are currently underway now that the scaffolding is complete and has been signed off by the department and worksafe. The repairs and painting are due to continue for several weeks on the outside before they begin the painting and repairs to the internal spaces upstairs. We appreciate your patience during this time.
Fencing Update
It’s finally happening! The long awaited fencing update has progressed and the job has been booked for January. The school perimeter fence will be replaced across the school including 2 new gates being installed between Brookville Gardens and the school. This will enable the school to be more secure during the school day on the advice of the department.
