What a privilege to attend the grade 5 camp with so many amazing kids, staff and parents last week. We headed up to Sovereign Hill for the day on Wednesday and then up to Creswick to stay at Camp Adekate for two nights. Lots of fun activities, yummy food and great company made for a special time away. Panning for Gold, experiencing life in the olden days in the mines, then at camp there were some more challenging activities. I was so impressed at the courage each of the kids showed, despite feeling stretched out of their comfort zones. Whether on the Zip line, Milk crate stacking, or the big one, Leap of Faith, the kids were brave, they encouraged each other and me to have a go.

Each activity required the kids to work as a team, utilising different skills and strengths. The camp staff reminded them at the end of each activity that together we are stronger and we do better together. Even when I was feeling nervous doing the zip line, one of the boys kept encouraging me to give it a go and that everything was going to be okay.
I'm so grateful to be a part of the BPS community where these kind of values are taught and supported. We definitely need one another and together we are stronger. Unity is important, working harmoniously in a work place or a family is important, always good to be reminded of that!
