Messages from the Office, Learning Specialists and School Organisers...
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the families who contributed to our school in 2025. Your financial support enables us to provide high-quality learning programs enriched with materials, devices, online apps, and resources, all of which are essential in our pursuit of student excellence.
We are pleased to announce that we have finalised the parent payment arrangements for 2026. You can review the details on our website. We invite all families to begin making their 2026 contributions via Compass. Early payments are welcomed and greatly appreciated as they help us prepare for the upcoming school year. We appreciate your ongoing financial support, which plays a crucial role in ensuring our school provides the best possible education for your children.
If you are eligible for CSEF or have any remaining School Saving Bonus (SSB) from 2025, you may wish to apply this to the Incursions/Excursions portion of your parent payments. Please hold making payment to the Incursions/Excursions contribution if you wish to to apply any applicable funds. We will contact families early in Term 1 next year to provide next steps.
As an incentive to help us fund our school device program, any families of Year 3 students going into Year 4, that pay their Laptop contribution by Friday 12th December, will receive a new laptop prior to the end of the school year.
Student devices in Years 3 and 6 will reach the end of their lifecycle at the end of the 2025 school year. Families that opted to buyout their students device at the end of the year have now been invoiced on Compass for the buyout costs. You can find this under Payments Centre > General Payments.
Please note that all payments must be received by Friday 5th December. If payment is not received by this date, the device will need to be returned to the school.
Thank you to all the families who recently shared feedback on our after-school activities in the last newsletter. Your insights help guide School Council in monitoring how our providers are going and ensuring our programs remain engaging, inclusive and aligned with child-safe standards. Many families expressed interest in more advanced lessons or full-game formats for certain sports. While our after-school clubs are intentionally introductory—designed to give students a fun, skills-based start—families seeking more specialised or competitive experiences may find dedicated community clubs better suited to those needs.
We also received requests to expand the activity schedule. At present, our capacity to do so is limited by space and by our priority to maintain high-quality learning environments. Using classrooms after hours often requires teachers to reset their spaces the following morning, even with the best efforts of providers, so our ability to add activities is constrained. We appreciate the community’s understanding as we balance student interest, available space and our core focus on teaching and learning.
Based on the feedback collected, we may review the current activity lineup and look at swapping out some offerings for those that were strongly requested. This may mean pausing certain activities for a period so that new options can be trialed. We will continue to use your feedback to shape a program that supports a wide range of interests while remaining practical for our school environment.
🎉 THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR ART SHOW A HUGE SUCCESS!

We are so grateful for the incredible support from our local businesses and SMPS community who helped make our Art Show on Tuesday 25th of November such a memorable event.

As a small way to say thank you, we encourage our school community to support the incredible local businesses that gave so generously. Please see the attached flyer below for The Palace Hotel's Kids Eat Free ALL WEEKEND deal.
💛 A Special Shoutout to Our Amazing Community Volunteers:
To all the parents/carers who gave their time, energy, and support prior and on the day – we truly couldn’t have done it without you. Whether you helped cutting and laminating, making lolly bags, setting up for the BBQ, putting up gazebos, serving food or packing up equipment, you played a part in the day’s success.
We would like to specially recognise the following parent volunteers who registered their support via our volunteer sign up link:
We understand that many more people may have helped on the day also, so our thanks extends to everyone who volunteered their time.
Also, a big thank you to some of our generous parent donors who worked in the weeks leading up to the event or donating items towards the day! A special shout out to Doug Plant (Grandfather to Verity (5B) and Troy (6A)) and Ed Kember (Dad to Zoe (3B) and Liv (1C) who did the bulk of the parent organisation, set up, co-ordination of volunteers and pack up - we thank you for your dedication and hard work with every event.
Your efforts helped us create a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere and lasting memories for our students. Thank you for being the heart of our school community.
