Kindergarten - Mrs Bartholomew

Mathematics:

Kindergarten are very keen mathematicians. They have developed some impressive counting skills and are becoming efficient in using learnt strategies for addition. Kindergarten have been working on ‘counting on’ from the bigger number as a strategy to combine two parts (groups) into one whole (one group all together). 

Our focus has  also been on number bonds of our numbers to 10  and ‘Friends of 10’. Knowledge of number bonds and friends of 10 is an integral skill and building block to assist students in becoming efficient mathematicians. We have been using "Think Boards" to assist us to stretch out our mathematical thinking. Here are some samples of our work!

Music:

Kindergarten have been thoroughly enjoying learning the drums with Mrs Caterer in Music. They have shown some impressive rhythmic skills and have been learning to compose their own short drum solos.
