Dear Families
What a wonderfully full and vibrant fortnight we’ve had at St Mary’s Primary School! It’s been a time that truly reflects the richness of life in our school community filled with learning, faith, sport, creativity and connection.
Last Wednesday, our Year 5 and 6 students visited the Immigration Museum and what an enriching experience it was. The students were highly engaged and came away with a deeper understanding of Australia’s Multicultural History and the journeys that have shaped our nation. It was a day of deep learning and thoughtful reflection.
On Friday, we braved the sun, wind and rain at the HOLT Athletics Carnival, at Duncan Mackinnon. Despite the miserable weather, our Year 4, 5 and 6 athletes shone brightly not just through their efforts on the track and field, but through their outstanding sportsmanship. It was heartening to see so many examples of encouragement, teamwork and school pride. Thank you to Mrs Angela Mason for organising our team and working on the track and to Ms Romios, Mr Buttigieg and Miss Sarah for supporting the team in the stands and to those families who supported the day.
Yesterday, our Year 6 students and their Parish peers took part in their Confirmation Reflection Day, preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation next Wednesday evening. It was a beautiful and meaningful time for the students to pause, reflect and pray as they ready themselves for this next important step in their faith journey. We thank Charmaine, Grace and Liz for helping with the food preparation, provided by the St Mary's Parish. We also thank Mr James Millane our Religious Education Leader, Father Jerome, Mrs Jes Mensen and Catherine Le Hunt, for the success of the day. The Gift and Fruits of the Holy Spirit were evident throughout the day. Please continue to keep them in your prayers as they approach their special day.
We congratulate Joseph for making his Sacrament of First Eucharist last Sunday.
We are now counting down to our School Production on Monday! It promises to be a celebration of creativity and talent. Please make sure to check the Imaginarium page in the newsletter for all the important details regarding times, costumes and arrangements. Everything you need to know is there. Thank you to those families who have emailed Mr Millane to help with the Bump In at 10:00am tomorrow.
Our Year 3 and 4 students are also looking ahead to their camp at Phillip Island in the last week of the Term and it was wonderful to see such a strong turnout at the family information session this afternoon. Thank you for your support as we prepare for this exciting adventure.
I had the pleasure of some special visitors, proudly sharing their work about 'Our Father' and their Dads!
Finally, we look forward to welcoming many of you to our Father’s Day and Special Friend's Breakfast and Mass tomorrow morning at 7:30am. It’s a special opportunity to celebrate the amazing men in our children’s lives fathers, grandfathers, uncles and father figures. On behalf of our whole school community, I wish all of you a joyful and blessed Father’s Day this Sunday.
Take care and wishing God's blessings and peace upon each of you.
