Principal's Message

Swimming

Our swimming program for the Grades 1 and 2 will begin in the first two weeks of September. Please ensure that all items are labelled and that you chat with your child on getting organised with their items including wrapping wet togs in a towel etc.

Camp Grade 3/4

In the first few days of September our Grade ¾ students will be heading off to Cave Hill Camp in Beaufort.

This is an amazing adventure camp and provides a variety of activities for the students to participate in. It promotes personal growth, academic learning andcreates lifelong memories.

We highly value our camping program as it offers numerous other benefits including:

  • Team building and social skills
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
  • Independence and self-reliance
  • Relationship building.

We hope the students have a great time.  A huge thank you in advance to the staff who are organising their own family life to ensure the camp is successful for all involved. Please chat with your child and ensure they thank the members of staff attending at the conclusion of the camp. Trust me, it is very tiring, and most staff return rather tired and in need of a deep sleep.

Maternity Leave

Our Student Welfare office Leann Dunt is expecting her first baby and will commence leave in late August. At this stage we are working on a replacement and will contact the parents involved in this program with an update. We wish Leann all the very best as she moves into this next adventure and know that she will thoroughly enjoy all the experiences and love that a new little bundle brings. We will cross our fingers for many “sleep filled” nights!

Specialist Spectacular

We’re excited to announce our upcoming Rollins Specialist Spectacular – a celebration of learning across our specialist programs!

The Specialist Spectacular will be held on Wednesday 27th August. We have identified two major areas to channel fundraising into- new fencing at the Batesford campus and the second section of the grandstand at Rollins.. The Spectacular will run from 3.30-450pm and will include our major raffle, BBQ (no need to go home and cook for the family!), face painting, teacher sponge throw, ice cream, art displays, Prep portraits and many more activities. We are hoping that all members of our community can attend and support our school.

Major Raffle- Specialist Spectacular

Your eldest child has been given raffle tickets to sell for out Specialist Spectacular. They are $1 per ticket and there are 10 in a book. Please return these to your child's classroom teacher (sold or unsold) by Monday 28th August. We have some amazing prizes up for grabs! If you require more raffle tickets, please contact the school office.

Parent/ Caregiver/Guardian Survey(PCGOS)

Importance of the Survey

The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. It will be open for parents / caregivers / guardians to complete between Monday 18 August and Friday 19 September. Parents who receive an invitation will be provided with a school PIN and a link to complete the survey. We hope that all parents can spare a few minutes to complete the survey. Rollins will use the survey results to inform school planning and the development of programs and initiatives to support our students.

Have a great weekend
