Wales Street Social - News and Updates

A huge thank you – your support at events over the past three years has helped fund the new boat playground! I’m sure your kids would agree it’s been a fantastic upgrade.

Next on the agenda: Fundraising profits will now be directed towards the mini oval upgrade (approx. $75,000).

If you’re scratching your head and wondering where the mini oval is, that’s the area between the main oval and the boat playground. We have it on good authority that this is a prized spot for ball lovers when it’s not their turn on the oval!

Come join us for a coffee on Friday 12th September at the Rat Café.

Want to know more about Wales Street Social and what it’s like to be part of this fab group? Join us for a coffee and a chat, after school drop off and assembly (around 10am).

We’re always on the lookout for new parents to get involved. Ways you can help:

  • Run or co-run an event
  • Assist with comms, social media, or graphic design
  • Lend IT support or other skills

Many hands make light work – and it’s fun!

 Trivia Fun

In her first year coordinating, Bronwyn Borbidge (parent of Cass 3A & Scout Prep C) delivered the rowdiest trivia night yet – as confirmed by Quiz Master Doug Park. A big thanks to Doug, who had his work cut out wrangling this lively crowd! With a coin toss challenge and a stack of raffle prizes, our generous parents dug deep to support the school (and show off their skills!).

Thank you to our event partner Nelson Alexander, for their generous support and to all the local businesses and families who donated prizes. Your support means a lot.

It’s that time of the year where we turn our attention to celebrating Wales Street Dads and other Special People.

We're holding the Father's & Special Person's Day Stall on Friday 5th September 2025. Not that far away..,

Please start to think about how you can help.

WE NEED:

  • Bakers - you delicious bakers - biscuits, small cakes or any baked goodies.
  • Preserve makers - jams are super popular.
  • Growers - plants and seedlings.
  • Donations - lollies, chocolates or treats of any kind, cards, small baskets, mugs - to help us put donated items together.
  • Anything else sustainable you think would make our Dads and Special Persons feel appreciated.
  • CRAFTERS ALERT:  we’re hoping to arrange a craft working bee in the next few weeks so look out for the details.
  • There are going to be two price points for this stall of $5 and $10 items.
  • We'll share more information about the stall, volunteering and working bees in the coming two weeks.
