Book Week arrives at Wales Street next Week. We will have activities in the Library during the week, announce our students’ favourite book from the Shortlisted books that we have read in Library class and of course, enjoy the Parade.

A  highlight each year is the Book character dress up parade on the oval, weather permitting! Inclement weather means we will divide into areas and use indoor spaces. The parade is scheduled for Tuesday 19th August from 9.10am, after rolls have been marked. Families are welcome to come along and watch.

This year's theme is "Book an adventure". If students are struggling to choose their favourite book character, they may like to consider a character who has an adventure that they would love to go on themselves or just really enjoyed.

Dressing up does not have to mean a full costume. Coming up with a few homemade items that will suggest the character, along with a photocopied or hand drawn picture of the book's front cover, pinned or hung on a lanyard is a great way to dress up for the parade. If dressing up is not for your child, please do not force the issue, they may just like to bring along a favourite/adventure book.

We aim to have fun and maybe find our next great read from the characters that we see in the parade. Please note there are no prizes.
