REC Message

We have had a very busy, faith-filled start to the term!

St Mary MacKillop Liturgy

We honour St Mary MacKillop, Australia's first saint, whose feast day is celebrated on the 8th August. Her life of courage, compassion, and deep faith continues to inspire us to "never see a need without doing something about it" and to serve those most in need, just as she did.

Feast of the Assumption of Mary

On the 15th August, the Feast of the Assumption marks the day that Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was taken body and soul into heaven. This beautiful feast celebrates her unique and special place in salvation history and gives us great hope for our own ultimate destiny.

Praying for Peace in Our World

On the 22nd of August, Pope Leo XIV called all Catholics to share in a day of prayer and fasting for peace. Our Stage 3 young people, led the school community in a reflective liturgy calling for peace in war torn regions across our world.

Cathedral Pilgrimage

At the beginning of the term, Stage 3 young people travelled to St Philomena's, Moree, to join the Western Deanery for a special Mass. This Mass celebrated the start of a pilgrimage for the Mini Cathedral, which is travelling to different parishes throughout the area. It was a wonderful opportunity for our young people to participate in this unique community event and witness the start of a meaningful journey. Well done to Sophia and Edward, who read so reverently.

First Holy Communion

We celebrate our Year 3 young people who recently completed their Rite of Enrolment for First Holy Communion. This special ceremony marks the beginning of their preparation journey to receive the Eucharist for the first time. We look forward to supporting them as they prepare for this blessed sacrament on Sunday,14th September.

Confirmation

We celebrate our young people who are completing their Rite of Enrolment for the Sacrament of Confirmation. This commitment marks the beginning of their final preparations to receive the Holy Spirit. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue this important faith journey and complete the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, 26th October.

May God bless you,
