From the Principal

What a huge couple of weeks we have in front of us, with Dowerin Field Day this Thursday, a School Development Day (pupil free day) on Friday, the College Ball on Saturday and Open day next Friday. With that in mind, this edition of the Chatter contains a lot of important information, so I will keep my contribution brief!
Open Day
Final preparations are underway, and it is set to be bigger and better than ever. I again encourage our students to engage with exhibitors on the day, establish networks and investigate post-school opportunities that are available.
College Ball
We’re really looking forward to the upcoming College Ball and the parent event. I have reminded students that this is a school function, and all College guidelines still apply. That includes a strict no drugs, alcohol, smoking, or vaping policy, and students are expected to uphold these standards. Any breaches will be subject to our usual school procedures.
Let’s work together to make it a safe, respectful, and memorable night for everyone.
Year 12s
With the end of the school year approaching for our Year 12s, many are getting itchy feet and are keen to take their next steps into apprenticeships, the workforce, or continuing their studies.
I spoke with our students at assembly about the importance of the reputation and legacy that they establish during their time here at the college, and that the way they carry themselves right up until the last day of school will leave a lasting impression with both staff and their peers, who will likely be their future neighbours, team mates, colleagues, customers, clients or even employers.
