Connecting Parents Of Neurodiverse Children

Message from our School Nurse Emily Healey

For those who don’t know me, I’m Emily, the school nurse—and also mum to two wonderful children, Ava (8) and Finley (6), who are part of our school community.

In 2023, I completed a Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies. My goal was to better understand how to support my children and their individual needs. Every child is unique, with their own strengths and challenges, and for neurodiverse children, these can often be amplified. This sometimes brings added complexity or stress for parents and caregivers.

With this in mind, we thought it would be lovely to create a space for parents of neurodiverse children to connect. We have a casual catch-up every month or so, open to anyone who might be interested. Whether your child has a formal diagnosis or you're simply exploring, you're more than welcome to join.

If you’re interested or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at emilyhealey@mpps.me.

I’m always happy to chat if you'd like to talk more.

Warm regards,

Emily HealeySchool Nurse & Parent at MPPS
