Literacy
In Literacy, the students have been diving into The Grandest Bookshop in the World while exploring the fascinating genre of magical realism. They’ve been learning about the structure of a narrative and have been planning their own magical realism stories blending the ordinary with the extraordinary in wonderfully creative ways.
Mathematics
In Maths, the focus has been on angles. The students have been busy identifying, measuring, and drawing angles using protractors, as well as spotting angles in the world around them. They’ve also been applying their skills to solve worded problems, putting their mathematical thinking to the test.
Religious Education
In RE, the students have been preparing presentations on inspirational Spiritual people, while also learning about the Sacrament of Confirmation. This has been particularly meaningful for our Year 6 students, who will be receiving their Confirmation early in Term 4.
Inquiry
In Inquiry, the students have been investigating the states of matter. One of the highlights has been conducting their own experiments, which they reported on at the end of the term. It has been fantastic to see their curiosity and scientific thinking shine.
Book Week
This term we also celebrated Book Week, and what a fantastic week it was! The theme this year was 'Book an Adventure' and our students certainly did just that. We had a wonderful time dressing up and taking part in a range of book-inspired activities. A big thank you to the parents who came in and read to our students; it was so special for the children to hear stories shared in different styles. The costumes were a real highlight, so many creative, colourful, and clever ideas filled the classrooms and hallways. Even the teachers joined in, proving that you’re never too old to dress up as your favourite character. Book Week is always such a valuable celebration, reminding us of the joy and importance of reading. Stories let us escape into new worlds, spark our imagination, and encourage us to see life from different perspectives. This year was no exception, it was a week full of fun, adventure, and a shared love of books.
