The students at OLGC have been diligently crafting their sculptures in preparation for the upcoming art show in Term Four. It's inspiring to see the tremendous effort they have put into this project, and I can't wait to showcase their amazing talents!
The Prep students have been putting in a tremendous amount of effort as they create their Yayoi Kusama-inspired paper mache sculptures. They have been exploring the fascinating process of paper mache, starting with designing their shapes and reinforcing them with strips of paper and glue. Each student has shown remarkable creativity and enthusiasm in layering the paper and adding their vibrant colour dots.
The Year 1/2 students have been hard at work crafting imaginative animal sculptures inspired by various artists. They've truly embraced their creativity, utilising a diverse range of materials, including newspaper, glue, chopsticks, and even items from the garden. This project has allowed them to explore textures and forms while developing their artistic skills.
The Year 3/4 students have drawn inspiration from Peter Diem's artwork as they create their own beautiful sculptures. They have used both air-dry clay and magic clay in various colours. The bright colours and playful designs showcase their creativity and artistic ideas.
The Year 5/6 students have truly impressed me with their incredible designs inspired by Yayoi Kusama. Using a variety of materials such as plaster, wire, paint, clay, and hot glue, they have created some seriously amazing works of art. Each piece reflects their unique style and creativity, highlighting their hard work and artistic talents. I am so excited for everyone to see these stunning creations at the upcoming art show!
