The last week of Term one is fast approaching. In the last week we will have lots of Easter activities for students to participate and enjoy. Further details will be provided later in week.

Jesus is told that his friend Lazarus is very sick. Lazarus lives in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha. Jesus waits before going to them. By the time he arrives, Lazarus has died and has been in the tomb for four days.
Martha goes out to meet Jesus and says that if he had been there, her brother would not have died. Jesus tells her, “Your brother will rise again.” He then says, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live.”
Mary also comes to Jesus, crying. Jesus is deeply moved and weeps. He goes to the tomb and asks for the stone to be rolled away. Then Jesus prays and calls out, “Lazarus, come out!” Lazarus comes out alive, still wrapped in burial cloths. Many people who see this believe in Jesus.
Summary
This story shows that Jesus has power over life and death. Even when things seem lost, Jesus brings hope. He cares deeply for people and shares in their sadness. When Jesus raises Lazarus, he shows that death is not the end.
During Lent, this reminds us to trust Jesus, even in hard times. Lent is a time to turn back to God and believe that he can bring new life into our hearts, just like he did for Lazarus.

Lord Jesus,
You are the resurrection and the life.
When we feel sad, afraid, or lost, help us to trust in you.
Bring new life to our hearts this Lent.
Help us to believe in your power and your love.
Walk with us each day and lead us closer to you.
Amen.

Each day St Peter's students and staff will be walking as part of our normal routine. However there will be a difference. Each day a unit will be in charge of carrying a bucket of water. The bucket of water represents those communities who do not have access to clean water from their homes who need to walk each day just to have access to it.
