School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support

CSC’s School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) initiative places our core values - Aspiration, Respect and Empathy - at the centre of school life. This whole-school approach fosters a consistent and positive culture where expected behaviours are explicitly taught, modelled and reinforced. Students are recognised for demonstrating these values through a points system, helping to build a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

SWPBS emphasises prevention over punishment, encouraging positive choices and strengthening relationships across the school community. By increasing student engagement, reducing disruption and explicitly teaching positive behaviours, the initiative supports improved academic outcomes and enriches the learning experience for all students.

This term has seen strong engagement from both students and staff, with 12,883 points awarded in recognition of positive behaviours - an excellent reflection of the culture being built. Students have enthusiastically participated in the rewards system, with Year 7 students especially enjoying redeeming points for the first time. Rewards have included canteen vouchers, local outings, lolly bags and the popular spinning prize wheel.

Student achievements were celebrated at the end-of-term whole-school assembly, recognising the highest point earners: James Van der Horst (Year 7), Xavier Britt (Year 8), Sasha Alderson (Year 9), Hannah Haliday (Year 10), Albie Henderson (Year 11) and Mathilde Cross (Year 12). Their consistent demonstration of the school’s values sets a strong example for others.
