Student Care and Student Safety

We’ve noticed an increase in boys leaving class to visit Student Services or the College Nurses for non-urgent matters. While we always want to support students’ wellbeing, being out of class affects not only their own learning but also the learning of others.

To help students stay focused and accountable, we’re asking that visits to Student Services and the College Nurses occur only at Recess and Lunch, unless there is an urgent or genuine illness during class time. Minor issues - such as small grazes or non-urgent issues - should wait until break times.

Regular medication will now be dispensed at Recess and Lunchtime (mostly Lunchtime). To assist with everyday needs, the Canteen will now stock Butter Menthols and Soothers, so students can purchase these directly if required.

A reminder for families: the College Nurses provide first aid and emergency support, but the school is not a medical centre. They are unable to conduct medical reviews or provide ongoing wound care - parents will need to manage these at home.

Finally, if your son is unwell, please keep him at home so he can recover properly and avoid passing illness to others.

Thank you for your support in helping us keep students healthy, safe, and learning in class.

Daniel is a board member of the DART Institute, an ambassador for the Women’s Resilience Centre and an ambassador for the national campaign Consent Can’t Wait. He was recently a nominee for the 2025 NSW Australian of the Year.

During this parent and community presentation, we gently confront the elephants in the room to get to the heart of what really matters to young people. These sessions intentionally bring caregivers and community leaders together. With care and clarity, Daniel provide reflective tools we can use to help young people analyse and challenge the culture around them.
