School Council News
It’s been a busy couple of months for the school council and our sub-committees as we approach the end of the school year.
Among items discussed at our latest meeting (November 27), school council:
- Considered school community feedback on school camps and endorsed the school’s camps for 2024 and its camps program from 2025 onwards.
- Approved the addition of a puffer jacket to the school’s uniform list, replacing the soft shell jacket.
- Endorsed the employment of student wellbeing and first aid/wellbeing support staff for 2024.
- Endorsed arrangements for private therapy agreements from 2024 onwards.
- Reviewed the latest finance reports and discussed parent payment contributions for 2024, which are being finalised.
- Received updates on school fundraising activities and Fathers of the Oak event plans.
- Reviewed policies considered by the education sub-committee (these are outlined in Adele Brice’s Assistant Principal’s report).
Fundraising
We would like to thank everyone who has supported the partnership team’s latest fundraising efforts, including the chocolate drive, mango drive and golf ball drop.
So far our community has raised around $9000 towards the creative play space, which is planned for construction next year.
Fundraising is ongoing - and if you’d like to contribute, there’s still time to buy a tray of mangoes and/or a ball (or two) in the golf ball drop (which also gives you the chance to win $2000 cash!).
Can you help?
We have ambitious fundraising goals for next year to support exciting projects that will benefit our students.
We are on the lookout for more volunteers to join our partnership team to assist with planning and organising fundraising events.
If you can lend a hand in 2024, we would love to hear from you. You don’t need to be a school council member to join the partnerships sub-committee.
If you are interested in joining the school council, we’d also love to hear from you! Nominations will open early in the new school year.
