We acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional custodians, 

past and present of this land of the Anaiwan, Banbai, Dunghutti, 

Jukambal, Kambuwal, Weraerai, Kamilaroi, Ngoorabul and Gumbaynggirr as acknowledged by Armidale Lands Council, people who long before us lived, 

loved and raised their children on this land. 

We also acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families 

in our community and acknowledge their deep physical 

and spiritual connections to the land.

During last term the children learnt how to identify Gagan, Bana and perform Yuluwirri song in Gamilaraay as well as Auslan.

This term we are working on the solar system and how we use the stars to guide us on journey’s, when to hunt and when we can hold ceremony and most importantly where we are!

We are making our very own solar system, the children have already begun this by making their very own unique Mirri’s and we will be having a zoom call with Gamilaraay Astronomer and astrophysicist, Peter Swanton! 

The kids are also making their very own book! They will be sent home with a fact sheet about them, if they could return it as soon as possible, that would be great!

Not many weeks of school left, so lets keep our attendance up! I know we are all getting tired coming toward the end of the year, but everyday counts!
