Good Shepherd School Advisory Council

Dear Good Shepherd Community
As the year draws to a close it is important to pause and reflect on the year that has brought much joy and light to our community. In my role as Chair of the Good Shepherd Advisory Council and as a parent, I am privileged to hear about the many wonderful programs and challenging learning experiences our children are undertaking. This year in particular it was great to see the many events organised by the school and the parents and friend’s association to engage families and provide fun and excitement.
Recently, I attended the Music Gala and Christmas Carols which was an absolutely breathtaking showcase of the many gifts and talents of the students from Foundation to Year 6. It was clearly evident that music is thriving at Good Shepherd and I congratulate Mrs Karen De Wilde for her passion and commitment in developing an outstanding music program.
These events provided the community with an opportunity to pay tribute to and acknowledge the extraordinary commitment and service of our Principal Mrs Ruth Jones. Ruth has served in her role as Principal for over three decades and has seen through the forever changing landscape of Catholic education. She has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of children and families during her time as Principal and her work ethic has been unwavering. Her commitment to the Parish has meant that there has always been a strong partnership between the school and parish which has undoubtedly enriched the lives of the children. We thank you Ruth for your longstanding service, love and commitment to the Good Shepherd community and wish you all the very best for your well-deserved retirement.
I wish all the Good Shepherd community a very Merry Christmas and a peace filled New Year.
Best wishes
Klara Baka
