Greater Western Basketball

Congratulations to the seven students who represented St Brigid’s College at the Year 8 basketball, Greater Western Region tournament in Ballarat on Tuesday 31st October. We played three games winning against Ballarat High School and Hopetoun Secondary College and losing in our third round to Bayview College, Portland. All students played exceptionally well throughout each game and represented our school with pride. A big thank you to Penelope M for coming along to coach the students and Finn A for being the ref. Finn also offered his time to assist another school during his games off.

State Volleyball

On Friday November 10th, the Year 7 boys volleyball team ventured to the Dandenong State Volleyball Centre for the School Sports Victoria State Finals.

The team played three tightly fought matches against Victory Lutheran College, McKinnon Secondary College and Eltham High School, narrowly going down in two sets in each game. Some highlights of the trip were the team's skill improving with every game they played, the sportsmanship the boys showed towards other students, teachers and the officials and the amount of fun the boys had throughout the whole trip!

Mr. Taylor travelled with the team and was very proud to see the amount of support the boys offered each other when mistakes were made or when they noticed a teammate needing words of encouragement.

The School Sports Victoria State Finals served as a valuable learning experience for the team, who returned home with heads held high.
