STAFF UPDATE
2026
We are delighted, but also a bit sad to announce that Mrs Sarah Kemp has been appointed to a position within the Department for Education as Inclusive Support and Advice Lead for the next two terms. This is a wonderful opportunity for Mrs Kemp to share her skills and passion for inclusive education across the system. We wish her all the best in her new temporary role.
In further leadership news, we are pleased to inform our school community that Mrs Gill Dowd, who filled the Wellbeing Leader position last year, will be stepping back into this important role, backfilling Mrs Kemp. Mrs Dowd’s experience and commitment to our students’ wellbeing will continue to be invaluable.
Additionally, we warmly welcome Mrs Kate Hunt, who will join the Reception class alongside Ms Martyne. Mrs Hunt is excited to join our Reception team, and we are pleased welcome her to Hackham East.
We also extend a very warm welcome to Mrs Jess Dolan, who has taken up the Year 5/6 position. This follows Mrs April Qalo’s commencement of maternity leave after the arrival of her baby boy. Congratulations to Mrs Qalo and her family on their new arrival. Parents are encouraged to take the opportunity to meet Mrs Dolan - she would love to meet you face to face and looks forward to getting to know the school community.
To ensure a smooth transition, there will be a thorough handover process and ongoing support provided to all staff members taking on new roles. This will help maintain continuity for our students and families, and support our team as we move into the second half of the year.
We appreciate your continued support as we work together for a positive and successful term.
