Year Four - Spotlight on Learning
Jericho Community
Dear Families,
What a week! With only three days in the classroom this week, teachers and students jammed packed a lot in.
Students completed two post assessments on our Mathematics topic 'Addition and Subtraction.' It was fantastic to see the growth in many students from this Formative Assessment. Along with observations and work samples teachers gained greater insight into what students have learnt over the last 3 weeks and where to next with the teaching of addition and subtraction.
On Wednesday, students participated in Ash Wednesday Mass in which they received the ashes of last year Palm Sunday palms on their forehead. This symbolises the beginning of Lent and the 40 days leading up to Easter. Here's a short clip that explains Lent a bit further.
