HARMONY DAY
Harmony day is back for 2025 - we will celebrate Harmony Day as a school on the 24th of
March. We have a range of things planned to celebrate cultural diversity at Sacred Heart on this day. The Student Rep Team have met with me this week and planning is underway for some exciting activities to celebrate different cultures.
HELP NEEDED!!
We would LOVE to hear from families/parents/guardians that would like to either do some cooking with students of a dish from their country or a chance to provide foods for a taste test of foods from other cultures (Being aware of nut, egg and other allergies).
This would occur on Monday between
11.15 - 1.30pm.
Please send me an email:
kharris@shpreston.catholic.edu.au, have a chat with me on Monday or Tuesday, or let your teacher know if you can help!
Student Representative Team Meeting
Our SR Team met today in the staffroom to discuss Harmony Day, a fundraiser idea and also our school expectations. We had some great discussions, the students generated so many great ideas and we are looking forward to some wonderful events to come at Sacred Heart in the coming weeks. Students loved sitting at the big table for our meeting!!
Wellbeing Initiative for families: MEAL BANK
We would like to begin a new initiative at Sacred Heart in Term 2 - where families that are able to provide a meal for a family in our school community, can prepare something (or purchase) and drop it in to school for those in need.
We will freeze meals or provide fresh (if time allows) to any family at Sacred Heart that may need a meal or two.
So fthe meals would go to families that we may know of needing a little extra support, those that may have been experiencing illness or a death in the family or perhaps a new baby....whatever the need, they could access a meal from our Sacred Heart Food Bank.
Please let me know if you are interested/able to donate a meal and I will organise some parent volunteers to assist me in coordinating the food bank.
Take Care,
Kate
