Leader of Year 12 Wellbeing
Mr Peter Robertson
This Newsletter, I’d like to focus on the positive contribution our Year 12 cohort is making in many aspects of the school community:
Our Student Leaders were introduced to the College community and Captains, Isabelle Fletcher and Hudson Peterson, addressed the school about their vision and aspirations for 2025, and being held accountable for what they say they are going to do.
Back on 14 February, Gratitude Lollipops were sold and hundreds of dollars raised for charity with such a simple but effective idea.
Our new Leader of Intervention, Mr Darrin Munro, had high praise for Year 12 as they engaged in a session on how to get the most out of the HSC and work together as a collective to achieve their best possible results.
A great day with close to full attendance, fun outfits and high participation in events. Our House Leaders went crazy with the chants and everyone had a good time.
Many of our leaders and other students helped out in tours and classrooms showcasing the programs and opportunities of each of our curriculum areas.
On Shrove Tuesday, our leaders helped to sell pancakes at Recess, supporting Caritas fundraising for Project Compassion.
The huge majority of students were respectful and reverent in St Aloysius Church and accepted with grace that we had to walk from the school on a tight schedule.
The timetable is out and notifications for each subject have been made available, so it is pleasing to see so many ambitious young men and women setting high goals and looking for opportunities to improve their rankings. The Learning Centre will be open for extended hours and sticking to a strong study plan should be everyone’s top priority at this point in time.
So much is happening and so much goes on beneath the radar but there are so many Year 12 students doing great things every week. This week, for example, our Year 12 swimmers smashed it at Homebush, Isabelle Fletcher represented the College in the Public Speaking, and so many students are receiving awards and certificates for their academic achievements and courses.
Well done, Year 12!
