What's on in 1/2

Literacy
We have some budding authors in our midst! Last week, our students created beautiful, detailed drawings of trees and used them as inspiration for some fantastic descriptive writing. Their choice of words was simply amazing! We’ve also been developing our speaking and listening skills during circle time and learning about the significance of Yarning Circles as part of our ‘Caring for Country’ topic. It’s been wonderful to see students sharing and listening with respect.
Numeracy
Skip counting and number patterns have been our focus, and the excitement in the classroom is contagious! If you walk past a maths lesson, you might hear choral counting, whisper counting, and lots of enthusiastic voices practicing together. The students have been spotting patterns in number charts and using hands-on materials to deepen their understanding.
Garden
Our garden sessions have been a huge hit! The students are settling into their routines, working in their groups, and enjoying hands-on learning in nature. We would love a few extra adult volunteers to help out with the Grade 2 classes on Tuesdays—if you have some time to spare, we’d love to have you join us!
