Fun-Filled Sports and Teamwork!

Our students have had an amazing time mixing and participating in a variety of exciting games during our latest sporting session! The sessions have included thrilling games of Kickball, where teamwork and strategy were key. They then joined in a spirited round of Grab the Flag, filled with laughter and plenty of energy.

In addition to these fun games, students also practiced for the upcoming cross-country event by completing several laps around the oval, showing great endurance and team spirit. It was fantastic to see everyone pushing themselves and supporting each other throughout.

District Swimming Competition: A Proud Moment for Whitehorse PS Swimmers

We are incredibly proud of the group of swimmers who stepped up to represent Whitehorse Primary School at the recent District Swimming Competition. These dedicated athletes not only showed great enthusiasm and sportsmanship but also demonstrated impressive competitiveness across their events.

A huge congratulations to all of our swimmers for their hard work and for proudly representing Whitehorse PS. We couldn’t be more excited about their efforts and the spirit they brought to the competition. Well done, everyone! Keep up the great work!

Weekly Library Sessions: A Joyful Journey into Books

Our students continue to look forward to their weekly library sessions, where they get the chance to share their favourite books, explore new ones, and build their own personal collections for their book boxes and classroom libraries. It’s always a pleasure to see the excitement on their faces as they browse through the shelves, carefully selecting titles that spark their imaginations.

Exploring Place Value Through Fun Games and Activities

This week, our students have been extending their understanding of place value through a variety of engaging games and tasks. It has been wonderful to see them working together and having fun while deepening their mathematical knowledge.

Students teamed up to play exciting games such as Fill the Stairs, Place Value Knockout, and Greater Than, which helped reinforce their understanding of numbers in a hands-on, interactive way. These activities encouraged teamwork and friendly competition, all while making learning feel like a game.

In addition to the games, we’ve been exploring number charts and number lines to uncover patterns in numbers. This has allowed the students to see how place value plays a crucial role in understanding the relationships between digits and numbers.

It’s been a week full of learning, discovery, and lots of fun – and we can’t wait to see where our mathematical journey takes us next!

he Super Cold Mystery

In the dark smoky midnight woods, there once3 never spoke a creature deep within the woods.

Terrified of life.

The problem is that we don’t know who the creature is?

It doesn’t have a friend, so he is lost daydreaming.

Now, many groups come looking for who he may be and where this monster seeks shelter.

But after weeks of searching a human took a glimpse at the monster.

And I don’t know if the monster is happy but either way, I’m looking for the monster, myself.

Now I’m searching and I think I saw it. YES!! I did. I think he has smoke coloured fur.

Turns out it was an exotic almost extinct animal.

The Forgotten Name

There once was a kid that woke up NOT KNOWING his own name. he was in his bedroom lying on his bed looking at the sign on his door…..wondering! But even though he though really hard he still did not know his name!!

The thing was the day was just beginning and he would still have the whole day of people not knowing his name at school. Under the boy’s bed came a HUGE THUMP!! The thump got his attention and he looked under for anything ‘SUS!’ Suddenly, something sucked the boy under!

He found himself standing on a magical rainbow with a starry sky above! Next to him was a garden with a bull. The little boy thought to himself maybe his name could start with a B? Then from mid air a 3D B dropped from the sky, the boy grabbed it and stuck it on a sign, then went on with the search!

The boy arrived at his next destination. He looked for an animal and finally found an iguana. After he got an ‘I’ that again dropped from the sky, he put the ‘I’ on the sign. The boy went on the search skipping along the magical rainbow. He arrived and found two lions lying, sleeping.

Next cam two ‘lls’ that dropped from the sky BUT he didn’t catch them instead they PLONKED on the magic rainbow, waking the lions up! OH NO! Surprisingly, the lions could talk and said, ‘I will eat you up!’ sadly. The boy snatched the ‘lls’ and ran before the lions noticed. The boy then added the ‘lls’ on the sign and went on.

The boy came and found a YAK! Now he knew that the animals could talk so he asked the yak if he could stop running and listen. It stopped in his tracks and then another letter dropped, it was a ‘y’.

Finally, he finished his name! At the end of the rainbow there was another magic portal. He heard, ‘BILLY!’ it came out of nowhere. He went through the portal and saw his mum repeating, ‘Billy, Billy, Billy!’ Ok mum, ‘I’ll get ready for school!’ As mum left the room, slamming the door, Billy could see the sign hanging and it said-Billy!! He knew it would work!!

Culinary Adventures: A Week of Delicious Creations

This week, our students had a fantastic time perfecting their culinary skills in the kitchen, creating some truly delicious dishes. The air was filled with the mouth watering aromas of bruschetta and potato toasties, making it hard to resist the temptation to sample their creations!

Our students showed great care and skill as they followed the recipes, learning new techniques and working together to produce tasty treats. From chopping and stirring to perfecting the final presentation, it was clear that they not only enjoyed the process but took pride in their culinary accomplishments
