Grade 2 News

Welcome to Term 3!
We’re excited to begin another term of learning, discovery, and growth with your children.
Here’s a snapshot of what we’ll be exploring this term:
Science
Physical and Chemical Changes Students will dive into the world of Physical and Chemical Science through hands-on observations and experiments.
They’ll be encouraged to question, predict, plan, conduct investigations, and evaluate their findings—developing essential scientific thinking skills.
Literacy
In Reading, we’re continuing to build fluency and expression, while also focusing on spelling patterns and tricky words. Regular reading at home remains a key part of reinforcing these skills.
In Writing, we’re beginning the term with a focus on Information Reports, learning how to research and present facts clearly and effectively.
Numeracy
For the first four weeks, we’ll be exploring Multiplication and Division.
Students will be introduced to strategies that help them understand and apply these concepts in real-world contexts.
Religion
We are learning about Jesus’ story.
To support this, we kindly ask that your child brings in four photos representing different stages of their life. These will help students understand how the four Gospels each offer a unique portrait of Jesus.
Parent-Teacher Interviews
If you haven’t yet booked your Parent-Teacher Interview, please do so via Simon as soon as possible. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and set goals for the term ahead.
Thank you for your continued support.
We’re looking forward to a fantastic Term 3!
