Performing Arts

In Year 6, students have used their knowledge of the space notes, ‘FACE in the space’ and the line notes to learn to read music. Students created their own sentences to remember the line notes. So creative and clever! 

The final tool to help students to learn to read music is the use of chroma note colours which simply are the colours which connect with each note!  

After studying the music composed by the famous John Williams, the Year 6 students had a breakthrough and we were able to play one of Williams’ famous movie sound scores, ‘The Star Wars Theme’ on keyboards and tuned percussion instruments.
