Grade 5 News

We have started reading Convict Boy in Literacy, learning about what life was like for a child convict sent to Australia on the First Fleet. To accompany this, students are planning their information report based around the First Fleet.  

In numeracy, we have been looking at angles, the different types of angles and their names. We have also been learning how to measure angles using 180° and 360° protractors. 

Our next unit is fractions and we begin this next week.  

There is a lot of excitement around the Winter Sports Carnival tomorrow. 

Parents are welcome to attend the venues to spectate. Another exciting sporting event we have coming up is the AFL 9’s Carnival. 

On Monday this week, we had students from Galen run a skills clinic for us. They will return in the coming weeks for another session, before the Carnival day arrives.
