Grade 4 News

Welcome Back, Grade 4!

We’re thrilled to welcome all our wonderful Grade 4 students back for an exciting Term 3!

It’s been great to see everyone return refreshed and ready to learn.

In English, our writing focus is on information reports, exploring how to take notes and organise facts clearly. We’ve also begun our new novel study — the Australian classic ‘Storm Boy’ by Colin Thiele — a moving story that’s already sparking deep discussion.

In Mathematics, we’ve launched into multiplication and division, focusing on vertical algorithms and building efficient strategies for solving problems.

In Religion, we’re exploring Parables — the meaningful stories Jesus told to teach important lessons about kindness, forgiveness and faith.

In History, our focus is on European exploration and settlement, learning about the early explorers and how first contacts impacted Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A huge congratulations to Jack Norris, who represented our school at the State Cross Country Championships — what an outstanding achievement! And best of luck to Eva O’Callaghan, who will be showcasing her public speaking skills in the Lions Club Public Speaking competition next Thursday. We’re so proud of both of you!

A reminder that Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held on Monday 4th of August, which is also a Pupil Free Day. Bookings can be made via PAM.

Please also note that Wednesday 13th of August is a Pupil Free Day as staff participate in professional development.

It’s shaping up to be a fantastic term of learning and growth!

Kind regards,

Mrs Saxby and Ms Evans
