A note from Mr Jackson

Lonely Wheelbarrow!

We have a lonely wheelbarrow that was left in the Maintenance Shed after the Term 2 Working Bee. Pease feel free to drop into the office to pick it up or we can arrange to drop it off to you over the coming days!

Thank You for Joining Our Welcome to Country Ceremony

(Friday 25 July)

Thank you to all who joined us for the Welcome to Country ceremony last Friday. It was a meaningful time to reflect on and honour the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we meet, learn, laugh—and even kick the football. Uncle Perry generously shared some of his life experiences and guided us through this important cultural tradition. We left a little smoky, but with a deeper understanding of respect and connection to Country. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day so special.

Student Leadership Ceremony

(Friday 1 August)

We warmly invite all families to join us for a special assembly to celebrate the installation of our Sustainability Team and Junior School Councillors for the second half of 2025. We are thrilled to welcome Kate Thwaites, Member for Jagajaga, who will present our student leaders with their badges and formally acknowledge them as they step into these important roles.

Sustainability and Junior School Council representatives play a key role in making sure that students attending Rosanna Primary have a say in decisions that affect their school life. Whether it’s helping to plan events, sharing ideas for improving the playground, or working on important school initiatives, student reps help ensure everyone feels heard and included. Encouraging student voice not only builds confidence and leadership skills, but also creates a more supportive and respectful school community.

Celebrating 100 Days of Learning in Prep! (Friday 1 August)

The Prep area might be moving a little more slowly this Friday—because our youngest learners are 100 days wiser! It’s hard to believe that just a few short months ago, they walked through the gates with oversized backpacks and crisp new uniforms. In just 100 days, we’ve watched them grow in confidence, curiosity, and capability. Their energy and enthusiasm for learning has been a joy to witness. We can’t wait to see what the next 100 days bring!

Celebrating World Scouting Week (Wednesday 30 July)

A big thank you to our Scouts, Cubs, and Joeys for proudly wearing their scarves and woggles (we just love that word!) on Wednesday in celebration of World Scouting Week. It was a pleasure to greet members of the Scouting movement and acknowledge the rich and diverse experiences our students are engaging in beyond the classroom. We’re proud to celebrate the values of leadership, service, and community that Scouting represents.

The Scholastic Book Fair is Coming!

(Wednesday 7August to Monday 12 August)

We’re excited to announce that the Annual Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Rosanna Primary School! The fair will run from Wednesday 7 August to Monday 12 August in the Prep OLA, opening each day at 3:30pm.

We warmly invite students and families to come along and explore a fantastic range of books for all ages. It’s a great way to celebrate the love of reading and literature—and every purchase helps support our school library! We look forward to seeing you there!

Three Way Conferences

Thanks for all who are have already or are planning to participate in the Three Way Conferences over the start of Term 3. We have found parents, students and teachers gathered in corners, corridors and offices. They have investigated learning samples, asked questions and been led by students. These conferences empower students to take ownership of their learning while building valuable communication skills and strengthening the partnership between school and home. We are incredibly proud of the way our students led their conversations with pride and purpose.
