Learning in Year 1

Welcome Back - What's happened so far...

Firstly, what an amazing day of celebrations we had on Wednesday 23rd of July for our 101st day of learning at school! There was a sea of dalmatians as we dressed up in black and white, making crowns and immersing ourselves in fun activities. During the day, we imagined being 101 years old, what we would spend if we had $101 dollars and recorded how many things we could do in 101 seconds. We were all so proud of how much we have learnt in 101 days and the smiles matched our excitement.

In other news, the new sensory garden will open soon and we were lucky to visit the space to explore all the amazing features. The running creek was one of our favourite spots as we watched leaves float. We also loved the hiding places amongst the bamboo, the teepee for imaginative play and the tunnels to run through.

Lastly, we are very excited about our new integrated unit, 'Creepy Crawly Critters' and can't wait for the Minibeasts incursion on Thursday 7th August. We will be meeting, holding and feeding a range of minibeasts such as butterflies, stick insects, giant litter bugs, mantids and molluscs.
