What's happening in our learning spaces?

YEAR 5/6 NEWS
As we move into the next part of the year, we are gradually increasing our homework expectations to help students build strong learning habits and take more ownership of their progress.
Reading
This term, students will be expected to read sections of our class novel at home on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On Fridays, we will read the next chapter together in class, so it's important that your child is up to date with their reading.
To support this, we will upload the chapters to Google Classroom, making it easy for students to access them at home. If you encounter any difficulties accessing or completing the reading, please don't hesitate to speak with your teachers directly so we can find a solution together.
Mathematics
Maths homework will continue on a weekly basis, but we are introducing a slight change. We ask that parents check through the maths homework with their child to see how they went and whether it has been completed. This subtle shift will help families stay informed about what their child is learning and any areas where they may need support.
To support this, answers will be sent home in the Monday newsletter, giving you a chance to review and discuss the work together.
Thank you, as always, for your support at home. These small changes make a big difference in helping students grow as independent and confident learners.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your support!
