GR 6 KINDER VISITS
Grade 6 Leaders Connect with Local Kindergartens.
Throughout this term, our Grade 6 Leadership Teams have been visiting local Kindergartens on a rotating weekly basis. These visits have given our students the chance to practise leadership and communication skills by introducing themselves, chatting with Kinder staff and children, asking questions, and joining in with favourite indoor and outdoor activities.
Today’s (Wednesday 30thvisit was extra special as we celebrated Friendship Day at St Laurence’s with a fun PJ-themed fundraising event. Our students arrived in their pyjamas, which the Kinder children found exciting and fun to talk about—it was a lovely way to spark conversation and connection.
A big thank you to the Kinder children and staff for warmly welcoming us each week, and a special thanks to Mrs Hamilton for organising and coordinating all our scheduled visits.
This program has been a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, friendships, and community spirit, and it has been thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved.
HELPERS NEEDED FOR PROSPECTIVE COLOUR RUN
Thank you so much to the parents who have put their hand up to help. We appreciate your support. It is not late to offer to assist. If we get enough helpers the day, we will run close to the end of this term on a Friday. We won't lock in a date until we are sure there is enough help to run the day.
FIRST EUCHARIST WORKSHOP AT MARY MacKILLOP COLLEGE
Last Friday our Grade Four students headed to Mary Mac for a First Eucharist Retreat. The day was run by students in the year ten Youth Ministry class.
Students were put into groups with others from St Joes and completed lots of fun activities learning all about the sacrament of First Eucharist. We also had a look around all the things on offer at Mary Mac, and some students were lucky enough to catch up with their old Prep Buddy!
