 Anti-Bullying Week 2025

Next week, Norwood Secondary College will join schools across Australia in marking Anti-Bullying Week 2025, under the national theme: “Be bold. Be kind. Speak up.”

This is a valuable opportunity for our whole school community to stand together against bullying and strengthen the message that every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued. Throughout the week teachers will be recognising and celebrating caring, respectful, and inclusive actions by awarding Kindness Tokens. Students who receive a token can exchange it at the Wellbeing Centre for a lucky-dip prize - a small but meaningful way to highlight the positive impact of kindness in our school.

We encourage families to continue these important conversations at home by discussing how kindness looks in everyday life and reminding them it’s always okay to speak up if they see or experience bullying.

How Families Can Support Anti-Bullying Week

  • Start daily check-ins: Ask simple questions like “How was your day to open safe conversations.

  • Model kindness: Share and highlight examples of respectful behaviour you notice in everyday life.

  • Encourage speaking up: Remind your child that it’s always okay to ask for help if they see or experience bullying.

This week reminds us that it only takes one person to make a difference — and when we all take action, real change happens.
