Our Year 7 STEM students have been looking at communication and teamwork. As a warm-up for their upcoming group projects, they’ve been diving into strategies for collaborating effectively and solving real-world problems together.
To kick things off, students took part in a fun, hands-on challenge designed to test both their speaking skills and listening precision. Sitting back-to-back with identical sets of materials, one student had to describe—down to the last detail—how to build a mystery model, while their partner followed the instructions without looking. Once completed, they compared creations, laughed over their attempts and swapped roles to try again.
This activity wasn’t just about building—it was about developing trust, clarity, and teamwork. A brilliant introduction to the collaborative adventure that awaits them as they tackle their STEM project.
