Literacy

In Literacy, we have been writing letter's to Mrs. Punton. We wrote these letters to share information about ourselves and to get to know Mrs. Punton better.

we have started learning about persuasive texts. Persuasive texts are when you are trying to convince someone to do, like or think something. We have enjoyed sharing our opinions and arguments!

We have also borrowed new books from the Library and settled into our reading routines.

Maths

In Maths, we have started learning about place value including reading big numbers. To help us read big numbers we have learnt about "houses". We also played a fun game called Code Crackers to practice applying our new place value knowledge and skills.

We have also played a number of other fun maths game to get our maths brains working again after the holidays. These games include:

Greedy Pig - In Greedy Pig we have to practice addition and applying our knowledge of probability.
Beat the Teacher - A place value game where you have to roll a dice and decide where to put the digit to make the biggest number possible.
Cows and Bulls - Another place value game where you have to guess the teachers number.

Other Learning

Auslan - we have been learning to signs to describe oursleves

Art - We have been making front covers using a self-potrait and patterns.

PE & Health - We learnt about healthy food with Miss Coffey.

Integrated Studies - We have started learning about the winter Olympics.

Resilience Project - We learnt about healthy habits.
