Our Food Relief Program on both campuses continues to be a great success and is filled with a variety of nutritious foods! Thanks to our partner organisations, including FoodFilled, Foodbank and Chobani, we have been able to provide families with fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, cakes and even meal kits that families can cook together to create healthy and nutritious meals. A reminder that Food Relief is open to all school families every week:
Last week, we held our third workshop delivered by South East Community Links on Renters’ Rights and what you are entitled to when renting a home. It was invaluable knowledge, and we learned about the many services and supports available if you are experiencing difficulties. South East Community Links is also a wonderful organisation to reach out to if you need support.

On 20 June, we will celebrate Refugee Week. In recognition of this important week, our school is running a Refugee Community Drive, where we are seeking donations of brand-new non-perishable foods, toiletries, toys and stationery for children. These donations will be organised into hampers and provided to organisations such as the Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre and South East Community Links, who will distribute them to newly arrived families settling in Australia. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our community and remind ourselves that we are all connected and stronger together. If you are able to contribute, please drop off donations with your child’s teacher or at the school office. Donations will be collected until 18 June. Thank you for your generosity and support.

Lastly, we were excited to host our first Healthy Minds, Healthy Communities workshop in collaboration with Women’s Health in the South East, made possible through an Australia Post Community Grant supporting mental health and wellbeing. During the session, participants explored financial literacy and the impact that money-related stress can have on our wellbeing. We discussed practical strategies for managing our finances through spending, saving and sharing, and built confidence in having age-appropriate conversations with our children about budgeting and money.

We look forward to our next session, Mothers and Daughters, where we will explore the important relationship between sleep and stress, and how healthy sleep habits can support overall wellbeing.
