Good afternoon families,
What a crazy weather week we have experienced this week. I think we are all settling into the routine of school and overall the students are now into the swing of this new school year.
Happy birthday to Father Andrew this week.
Jubilee 2025 - Pilgrims of Hope
This year’s Jubilee was announced via the papal Bull, Spes Non Confundit (Francis 2024c), which is set out under the following key themes:
• ‘Word of hope’ outlines the deep connection between God’s love and our salvation.
• ‘Journey of hope’ uses the idea of pilgrimage to describe the Christian life as a journey towards God.
• ‘Signs of hope’ asks us to seek and become aware of God’s presence in the world.
• ‘Appeals for hope’ urges us to enact God’s love as we strive to bring justice to our troubled world.
• ‘Anchored in hope’ makes clear that true hope is anchored in Christ’s promises of eternal life
Traffic Flow
Thank you everyone for responding so well to the change in entering the school. The flow in and out of the school yard seems to have improved.
Longbeach Close
Please do not use this Close as a carpark or drop off centre. Longbeach Close is next door to the school (exit gate side). Many residences are children and elderly.
St Louis' Pathway
The pathway that runs down the side of the school is school land. However, some years ago the Kingston Council approached the school to have access to this piece of our land so they could create a pathway from Dolphin St to the bike path. The agreement was that the Council would maintain the path. If you have any concerns with vines or branches growing over the pathway, please contact the Council. I have spoken to the Council this week and reminded them of the agreement.
Mobile devices and Smart Watches
Just a reminder that students are not allowed to use mobile phones or smart watches during school time. No messaging should be happening during school hours on either of these devices. Smart watches can be set to school mode so they are not a distraction during important learning time. We appreciate your support.
