Principal's Message

Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,

It was wonderful to see all of our students in Years 1- 6 return last Thursday.  We welcome our Kindergarten class and their families and look forward to a very productive year.  All students have settled in quickly and are learning. 

School Captains Induction

This Friday, 14th February we will be inducting our School Captains and Sports Captains for 2025.  All parents and community are welcome to attend.  Congratulations to the following students who will be inducted:

School Leaders - Lachlan and Lebron - School Captains, Dominic D and Tailor - Vice Captains, Maryellen & Bonnie - Sports Captains Macquarie, Ethan & Lexi - Sports Captains Oxley and Lillian S & Asthon A - Sports Captains Wentworth.  

School Notes and Procedures

We have implemented a new system with regards to permission notes and other information coming home from school.  All notes on blue paper will require a signature and to be returned to school.  Notes on white paper are information only.

Behaviour Focus, School Values & Over and Above Awards

We will again be focusing on behaviour and our school values this year.  All students have received their rewards chart that they will complete when they receive their over and above awards.  More details on rewards will come.

Hours of Operation

Please note that our staff are involved in other activities such as meetings, and preparation for the day until 8:30am, therefore, children will not be supervised before this time.  Our office operates between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm Monday to Friday.  

School Swimming Carnival

We held our Annual School Swimming Carnival yesterday for swimmers aged 8 years and above with all of Years 3-6 in attendance.  It was a great day with all students cheering on and encouraging our swimmers.  Congratulations to those students who have been selected to attend the Quirindi Zone Swimming Carnival on Friday, 21st February 2025.  Notes will be sent home shortly for those students who have been selected to represent Werris Creek Public School.

School Development Days for 2025

At the beginning of each term, we will be holding our School Development Days where our staff get the opportunity to prepare and conduct professional learning.  The dates for Terms 2, 3 and 4 are as follows:

Term 2 - 28th and 29th April

Term 3 - 21st July

Term 4 - 13th October
