Clapping in Ceremony and Badge Presentation

Each year at SJV we have a tradition where we welcome our Foundation students and new students and teachers. We also present all our Year 6 leaders and student captains with their badge.
This ceremony was held last Thursday!!
We thank all our Foundation and grade 6 families and friends that came to celebrate this important ceremony with us.
We welcomed our Foundation Groups:

Foundation W
We welcomed our new students and staff to the SJV Community:

Shari Correlje FCP
As part of the Captains/ Leaders ceremony the badges were blessed by Father David :
"God of light and love, Your Son led his followers by giving his life, all the way to the end. As we make the sign of the cross over these badges, may they represent the commitment and generosity of our leaders today. Bless these badges and all who wear them, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen"
Mr. Mullaly then presented the school captains and leaders with their badges. Our new staff also were formally welcomed by our Year 6 representatives and received their staff badge to wear.
The ceremony concluded with the Year 6 leaders completing a pledge to the SJV community.
"We stand here today, before our school community, proud to be captains and leaders of St John Vianney’s School.
As Pilgrims of Hope in this Year of Jubilee, we look forward to leading by example—showing kindness to others and offering a hand of friendship and support.
We are proud of our school and promise to be our best and do our best.
We will cheerfully contribute to school life and help others become the best they can be.
We know that, at times, we will be challenged.
But we know that we grow with the responsibility our leadership brings.
Lord, guide us throughout 2025. May we walk in faith, bringing hope and joy to those around us."
After the ceremony many of families stayed for a special morning tea.
What a great way of celebrating our SJV Community!
