👷VET Pathways & WPL

VET Pathways & Workplace Learning Update
We are pleased to welcome back both new and returning VET students to the 2025 school year. This year, 73 students are pursuing Certificates in Business, Education Support, Electrical, Automotive, Retail, Carpentry, Electronics, Marine Studies, Barbering, Sports, Screen & Media, Tourism, Music and Radio/Podcasting, Resources/Infrastructure and Nursing. It is encouraging to see so many students taking proactive steps toward their future careers, especially in a variety of different fields.
Additionally, 50 students are undertaking a Certificate II in Furnishings, Engineering as well as or Cert II/III in IT/Digital Technologies. These programs are designed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge applicable to various industries, emphasising the importance of understanding workplace procedures, routines and specialised skills.
Last year we were fortunate to be funded by the Parents Association to buy cooking supplies for the ASDAN program – we have decided to identify standalone units in Certificate II in Cookery as combining these units will give students the best opportunity to enter the hospitality industry, if they choose to do so.
Please be reminded that your son’s attendance and communication are vital for success in all subjects, including VET. Students must attend all scheduled classes and maintain communication with their facilitator or teacher if they are unable to attend. Failure to do so may impact their ability to complete assessments. Please advise me if they are unable to attend. Please note that students must attend sports carnivals.
Industry and Enterprise Program
In Week 7, students in the Industry and Enterprise Program will participate in their first work placements across a variety of industries. Work experience is an invaluable component of learning, enabling students to practice and enhance the industry skills they have developed in the classroom under the guidance of experienced employers.
We wish all students the best of luck in their placements and look forward to visiting them on-site.
