Dear Boarding Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to 2025 in Cebula Boarding.

The first two weeks back have been fabulous, and our new boarding house has been a wonderful addition to our Cebula community. 

All the boys have settled in remarkably well, especially the Year 7s and those new to boarding, all forming new friendships and creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with laughter and excitement. The Cebula boarding house has truly come alive, providing the perfect backdrop for many relationship-building experiences.

A special thank you goes out to all the parents and guardians who attended the Boarding Parents Sundowner last week– it was a great evening and fostered a true sense of community among us all.

The first of our Welcome Weekend “whole of boarding “ activities was last week's day trip to the Outback Splash Water Park. We had perfect summer weather, and the boys (and staff) had fun on the slides and in the pools. Thank you to our “old boarders” who took it upon themselves to make sure all the new arrivals were well looked after. The  Friday night pool party was also  well received with hours of socialising in the College pool and a delicious BBQ dinner.

We extend our congratulations to some of our boarding leaders, Hugh, Dylan and Riley, who represented the boarding house and College with pride at the De Mazenod Family Conference in Brisbane this week. Their efforts exemplify the spirit of our boarding community. All the Year 12s have been amazing mentoring the Year 7s for the last 2 weeks and this has made it so much easier for our youngest boys to transition so well to residential life.

Lastly, we encourage parents to engage their sons in conversations about the importance of participating in the weekend recreation program which begins this week with outings to Lazer Blaze and Bounce. These activities offer great fun and unique opportunities to try new things while building lasting friendships. 

Here’s to a fantastic start to the  year and many more memorable moments ahead for the Cebula family!
