Prep Learning Reflection
The Preps have had a wonderful couple of weeks to finish of Term 3!
They've been busy applying all that they've learnt about fiction stories, making their very own story book! It's great to see their imaginations shine and their finished pieces are a testament to the growth they've made with their writing abilities this year so far!
We've continued to read a wide range of picture story books and have loved being introduced to new characters and authors.
In Numeracy we've been refining our understanding of place value. Focusing on using bundles and tens frames to represent two digit numbers.
43 is 4 tens and 3 ones!
Early next term we'll have the creators of the EMP program visiting us! Make sure you return your consent form for the lesson recording if you haven't already. Over the holidays, these forms can be sent as an email to Vicky in the office.
On Monday this week, the Prep and Grade 4 cohort went on a walking excursion to the Bug Rug! The walk was a great opportunity for the students to practise being safe in the community, on roads and in public places. We did a Nature Drawing Scavenger Hunt with our buddies and discussed the different elements of the park that were put in place to keep us safe, as well as the things we can do ourselves to manage our safety.
We had some slow legs on the walk back, but the students had a wonderful time.
We wish you all restful school holidays. We hope the students come back energised to tackle the final stage of their Prep year and look forward to hearing all of their stories of what they got up to over the two weeks!
