Wen Ju Hour - Language Teacher
Foundation:
Foundation students are continuing to develop an understanding of Chinese writing, oral communication and an appreciation of Chinese culture. Students learn counting, family names, months of the year and sea animals. They participate in songs, games, chants and a range of cultural activities. Revision of self-introduction, numbers and other previously learnt phrases, e.g. likes/dislikes and colours will be covered.
Year 1:
Year 1 students are developing an understanding of Chinese writing, oral communication and an appreciation of Chinese culture. Students learn about weather, Australian states and capital cities and are introduced to the Chinese Pinyin phonic system. They participate in songs, games, chants and a range of cultural activities. Revision of self-introduction, numbers and other previously learnt phrases, e.g. likes/dislikes, days and colours will be covered.

Year 2 students are developing an understanding of Chinese writing, oral communication and an appreciation of Chinese culture. Year 6 students are developing knowledge and skills in Chinese writing, oral communication and an appreciation of Chinese culture. Students learn about Myself, favourite food, Australian states and capital cities and study the Chinese Pinyin phonic system. They participate in songs, games, chants and a range of cultural activities. Students explore the use of Chinese language on the iPad and take part in short question and answer exchanges.
