Need to Knows
Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you to those who attended our presentation sharing the findings from the Insights Report, presented by Dr Phil Cummins. Also, my thanks to the four parents who provided feedback on the presentation and report via the action research email address.
We appreciate the engagement of our community in the action research process. Dr Cummins shared his thoughts with us around response rates, which he found to be very strong, including a total of 404 individual comments from parents, and 1,037 individual comments from students. The focus groups that followed confirmed the themes and patterns which emerged from the surveys.
We have listened to feedback, we read every comment, every email, and have had numerous conversations. The consultation and action research stage is now complete, and the Chevalier College Board has endorsed the integration of the Best Use of Time Flipped Mondays Initiative as a permanent feature of the College’s Future Facing educational strategy.
Next steps:
- We are establishing a Steering Committee to oversee the ongoing implementation of flexible Flipped Mondays, and other elements of the Future Facing initiative. As shared in last week’s Need to Knows, we now seek expressions of interest from parents who wish to join the Steering Committee. The EOI should outline in 250 words or less why you are interested and what you can bring to the role, and should be submitted via email to hammondk@chevalier.nsw.edu.au before the closing date of Monday 14 October.
- Key Actions and Proposals as detailed in the College Response to the Insights Report will be implemented; please read the Response for further details - shared as part of the full report in Need to Knows two weeks ago.
The research phase has now concluded, and as such, we are no longer seeking feedback via actionresearch@chevalier.nsw.edu.au and this email address will now be closed. However, of course we always welcome your feedback on all aspects of your child’s schooling via the office email office@chevalier.nsw.edu.au or by phone if you wish to leave a message for a specific member of staff.
From here, we now move forward in partnership with you. We appreciate our Chevalier families’ trust in the professional judgement of our staff and highly qualified educators to continue to strive to do what is best for your children, our students. Every decision we make will continue to be made with that as our driving purpose.
