Farewell Sue Carroll
Before Pope Francis was ordained, he wrote a credo that reflects his profound understanding of himself: I am flawed, I am a good and gifted person, and I am called to offer my gifts. Principal Sue Carroll reflected on these words as she shared them with staff in her final week with St Anne's College demonstrating how the statement resonates with her leadership.
A beautiful tribute was held on Tuesday this week at the College so students and staff could say goodbye and present gifts to Principal Sue Carroll.
The ceremony began with a prayer, followed by special tributes from SOW, SOI and SOP students.
Sue was presented with a video containing well wishes and goodbye messages from students and staff followed by a reflective slideshow showcasing some of the many memories at St Anne's College since it opened as a brand new school in 2019 - there was plenty to look back on including pivotal moments in our history. The ceremony concluded with students from SOW singing some special songs for Sue
Here are some moments from the ceremony:
Staff member, Kazayi's daughter, Alicia Nokutenda Kazayi, made a touching tribute for Sue when she handed her a drawing she completed for her.
'In a few words I would say the butterflies I chose to add them because looking at Sue I saw she was a free-spirited, happy and joyful person 'like a butterfly'. And she was indeed a joyful person when I got to meet her. And the choice of colours, is because I like adding a pop of colour in my drawings and in whatever I do.'
Celebrate Sue's wonderful, joyful journey with
St Anne's College since 2019,
with this slideshow.
Dom Poppa, founding St Anne's College, Principal wrote a touching poem to Sue:
