Dear Parents and Carers,

 

As a school community, we are very excited to be counting to our 2023 Art Show!  We look forward to seeing St Simon’s Families join us for the opening of the Art Show on Wednesday 18th October.  The countdown is on!  Please come prepared to support the St Simon’s Parents’ Association Cake stall on the Building B Decking.

 

Please see below some important information regarding child safety regarding Wednesday’s evening event.

  • The school basketball courts will be open for car parking.  Care must be taken by all vehicles entering and exiting the school site.  All children must be accompanied by their parent\carer when walking to and from the car park areas.  Please follow all directions for parking and movement given by school staff.
  • Access to toilets on the night of the Art Show.  The student toilet blocks will be designated for children and parents to use as family toilets.  All school staff will use the designated staff toilets within the school site.
  • ALL students must be under the direct supervision of a parent or carer for the duration of the art show.  Playgrounds, the school oval and the athletics track are all out of bounds during the event from 5:30-8:00 pm.

 

End-of-Year Dates

I would like to draw your attention to some key dates related to the End of Year school celebrations.  

Parents and carers are invited to join us at many of these events.

  • Last day of school for students - Friday 15th December at 2:30pm
  • End of Year School Assembly - Friday 15th December at 11:30am
  • Year 6 Graduation Day - Thursday 14th December - Graduation Mass 6:00pm
  • Thanksgiving Mass Wednesday 13th December - 9:15am 

2024 Class Requests

We will commence working on class lists later in the term so any families who have specific requests for student placement for 2024 classes must either email me (principal@ssrowville.catholic.edu.au) or make an appointment to discuss the specific learning or well-being needs of their children by FRIDAY 20th OCTOBER. Please, this is not an opportunity to request to be in the same class as a friend nor an opportunity for “teacher shopping”.

Enrolment for 2024

School organisational planning for 2024 is well underway, assuming all students enrolled in form Prep to Year 5 will return in the 2024 school year.  If this is not the case, I ask that you contact the school office immediately, notifying your intentions. This information assists the school leadership immensely with the planning and resourcing for the 2024 school year.
