From Daniel and Anna

Principal and Assistant Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a wonderful year it has been! As we wrap up 2023, we reflect on many things - student learning growth, student wellbeing, family engagement, staff productivity, and more than anything - the strong relationships we have continued to build this year. Relationships between students and staff, staff and families, and as a whole community.

This year will finish at 1.30pm on Wednesday 20th December

Miss Shannen May will be taking leave for the last 4 days of term, so Foundation students will be taught by Miss Alannah Cole for the last few days of term.

Thank You Morning Tea

Thank you for your contributions to your child/ren's learning this year, and thank you for the support you have shown our school. We look forward to continuing this important work with you next year. For now, staff would like to say THANK YOU to all of our parent and community volunteers for the work you have done to support our school this year. We invite you all to attend a morning tea on Thursday 14th December, 11am, in the Library. We will take that opportunity to say thank you in person, while you enjoy some coffee/tea/snacks/chats! Please do try to come along.

Transition Day

Our Whole School Transition Day will be held this coming Tuesday 12th December. Students will work in their 2024 Classrooms, with their 2024 teachers and classmates between 11.30am - 2pm. We look forward to seeing students settle into their new classes - it's always a wonderful moment to appreciate how much they've grown and learned this year!

Imagination with a Twist!

Our whole school production - IMAGINATION WITH A TWIST! - was performed to delighted audiences two weeks ago.  It was fabulous night for our students as they experienced the thrills of performing on stage after months of preparation.

We are very pleased to be able to provide families with a recording of the performance.  You can access it here to watch on our unlisted (link only) Youtube channel:

Welcome Andrew

We are very pleased to welcome Mr Andrew Cameron to our teaching team for 2024.  Mr Cameron will be joining us from Upwey PS and will teaching Middle B.  He brings with him a wealth of experience and we are looking forward to his contribution to our community next year.

Farewell Alannah and Jess

We will farewell Miss Jessica Kidd and Miss Alannah Cole, who will be moving on to share their skills with new schools next year. We thank each of them for their hard work, flexibility and compassion this year, and wish them all the very best in the future.

Farewell Jenni

Our Chaplain, Jenni, has made the difficult decision not to return to KPS, following some injuries earlier this year. She sends her love and thanks everyone for their warmth in her time at KPS. In 2024 we will continue to employ our current counsellor, Olivia, and will be further developing her role as School Wellbeing Officer, instead of hiring a new Chaplain. Olivia will continue to support students in 1:1 and small group settings, while also providing targeted support to parents and families.

Farewell Carolyn

We will also farewell Carolyn Robinson, our Business Manager, after a staggering 24 years of work at Kilsyth Primary School. Having started at KPS as a parent in 1995, then becoming a staff member in 2000 and helping restart the school after the fire, Carolyn will retire as our longest-serving staff member. We will hold an afternoon tea to celebrate her retirement in early 2024, so please stay tuned for an invitation in coming days. In the meantime, please pop past the office and wish her well, as she will be finishing up at the end of this term.

THANK YOU CAROLYN FOR YOUR HUGE COMMITMENT AND SERVICE TO OUR SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY.  YOU HAVE WORKED TIRELESSLY FOR OUR STUDENTS OVER MANY YEARS AND HAVE MADE A MASSIVE CONTRIBUTION TO THE LEARNING, WELLBEING AND CARE OF OUR STUDENTS, FAMILIES AND STAFF.  YOU WILL BE SORELY MISSED.  WE ARE EXCITED FOR WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND WE WISH YOU ALL THE VERY BEST!

Have a safe and enjoyable summer break.  We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2024!!

all the best...

Daniel and Anna
